Hey there, my name is Cody. I grew up in southern California and received my Bachelors degree in Financial Services from San Diego State University. Always having a passion for health and wellness, I decided to pursue another career path. In 2016, I graduated from Bauman College as a certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant. Later that year I moved to Portland to attend the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. In 2020, I plan to receive my Masters degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine from OCOM.

Having played sports my entire life, I’ve developed a great understanding of the athletes and weekend warriors mental drive to perform at a high level. I am empathetic to those who have had the sport or training they love put on hold due to a severe or nagging injury. Therefore, while I consider myself as a general practitioner, my background has led me to specialize in musculoskeletal issues, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. My education from Bauman College & personal interests in digestive and metabolic health has allowed me to address, support, and treat patients with digestive disorders and metabolic conditions.

My goal as a practitioner is to address conditions through the lens of both Western and Eastern medicine, allowing both perspectives to inform my evaluation and treatment approach. One of the ways I achieve this is by beginning the initial interview with a thorough orthopedic evaluation, as well as a Chinese diagnostic technique known as channel palpation. In addition to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, I incorporate Japanese- style shiatsu, gua sha, cupping, moxabustion, and electro-acupuncture into my treatment sessions, depending on patient need. One of my guiding principles & favorite quotes comes from Lao Tzu, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. Whether your struggling withpain, fatigue, stress, diet, or lifestyle, my hope is to allow patients to return to being their optimal selves with the support and guidance they need.

I love travelling the world and immersing myself in local culture, especially food culture of street markets and hole-in-the-wall gems. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my dog Maddux, growing veggies in the garden, playing chess, practicing Tai Chi, and playing/ watching football and basketball (S.F. 49ers & Houston Rockets fan).
