My name is Stephanie Jung, I am a Chinese medicine practitioner. I am also a born and raised Texan. Growing up, I loved to run, play sports, and travel. One of my favorite memories include traveling to South Korea to visit all of my relatives. Starting from a young age I began to think of the impact of nutrition and lifestyle choices on health as I dealt with digestive issues of my own. My passion for health developed even more as I studied Nutrition Sciences and Spanish at Baylor University. I learned to view food as a useful tool to nourish and fuel the body. Incorporating a variety of whole nutritional foods into meals and trying new recipes became a fun activity and a new medicine to me. I then moved on to Oregon College of Oriental Medicine to learn all about Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Here, I learned to see the body as a whole system and how to bring it to a more balanced state. The body can be changed positively by harmonizing the functions of the organs and by allowing the body’s energy to move through the body smoothly. Now, I am based in Portland, Oregon, and I enjoy hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family. At my practice, I provide acupuncture, bodywork, herbal consultations, gua sha, moxibustion, and cupping to treat a wide variety of illnesses. I integrate these treatments with nutritional therapy to not only improve the body’s physical health, but to enhance the person’s total wellbeing. I am a big believer in the power of the body and its ability to heal itself. We can work together to address health concerns and relieve pain, and we can guide the body and the mind in the right direction to achieve the goals you have.
